The Trinity Foundation developed a vision to create an enduring legacy for raising up, developing and supporting youth and young adults to be Christian leaders within the church and in their communities. The Foundation’s objective is to grow and develop Christian leaders with financial resources focused on Trinity members pursuing higher education or young adults involved in Christian leadership development activities.

making a gift to the foundation

The Foundation is prepared to receive a wide variety of gifts from Trinity members and friends.

  • cash: Gifts of any size, at any time, are always welcome.
  • memorials: Honor the legacy of your loved one through the gift of education.
  • thrivent choice dollars: Allocate your Thrivent Choice dollars to the Foundation.
  • bequests and wills: The use of bequests and wills is one of the most significant ways to support the Foundation.
  • securities and real estate: Tax laws recognize the value of, and encourage financial support for, institutions like the Foundation.
  • other giving options: Tax laws recognize the value of, and encourage financial support for, institutions like the Foundation, through methods such as Life Estate Contracts, Deferred Gift Annuities, Life Insurance, Charitable Remainders and Living Trusts. The Foundation’s Board of Directors would be happy to discuss any of these special situations.

applying for a trinity foundation scholarship

The Foundation scholarship program is for all youth who exhibit Christian leadership and seek further growth through higher education or other leadership opportunities. High school seniors, college students and young adults involved in mission or service projects may apply.

Scholarships range from $500 to $2,000. The Trinity Foundation Scholarships are allocated through a competitive selection and evaluation process. The Trinity Foundation Board makes the final determination of number of awards and award amounts based on the quantity and quality of applications received. Applicants will be notified of awards in mid-June.

selection criteria

  • Applicant is furthering their education through post-high school education or Christian leadership programs for the 2025-26 academic year.
  • Applicant or family must be a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, there will be consideration given to those students who are not members of Trinity but have been actively involved in the youth programming for more than one year.
  • Applicant displays Christian leadership through their involvement in faith-based activities in their college and/or community.
  • Christian leadership as defined by the selection process will be viewed in the context of the four pillars of Trinity’s mission:

  • worship joyfully: community & sharing faith
  • grow in faith: shaping and transforming us
  • serve near and far…in Jesus’ name: service to others

Applications will become available in the Spring of 2025.

Applications are due May 31st, 2024. Applicants will be notified by June 30th.
