Confirmation at Trinity is a three-year ministry that typically begins in the fall of the 6th grade year and ends with the Rite of Confirmation on the last Sunday of October for 9th grade students. This ministry offers a wide variety of experiences and has built in flexibility to meet a diversity of individual needs and learning styles. Trinity is a welcoming community and desires to work with the needs/situations of each family.
Confirmation ministry is a voluntary program and is available to those who wish to learn more and grow in their faith. The Rite of Confirmation (Affirmation of Baptism) is not a sacrament in the Lutheran Tradition. It is a public affirmation of our baptism/faith. We trust that each family takes this commitment seriously and understands the reasons why they are participating. We want our youth to learn how to get involved, to serve, to give, to grow and to go beyond just showing up. We expect that students will participate constructively in their small group Huddle by respectfully engaging in discussion—to think, ask questions, share ideas, employ creativity, pray and have fun! Our large group time is made up of music, games, and a topical talk that centers around the theme of the night.
Confirmation meets Wednesdays nights beginning in the Sanctuary for large group at 6:30pm. Small group meets afterwards 6:45-7:30pm. Students must be registered to attend.

During Lent, Confirmation youth will participate in a 1:1 mentoring program instead of regular confirmation.
Each youth will choose a trusted adult to be their Faith Mentor (must be 18+, not their own parent or grandparent, preferably a Trinity Member or regular attender and not their Huddle Leader).
Youth and mentors are expected to attend Wednesday Lenten worship together at 6:30pm and meet for 20-30 minutes before or after worship. Discussion guides will be provided. Lenten dinners are served from 5-6:15pm in the Fellowship Hall – open to all.
2026 LENTEN WEDS: FEB 25, MAR 4, 11, 18 and 25
The goal is to build relationships with supportive adults in their faith journey. Pairs are encouraged to share a meal as part of their discussion time.
If you know your Faith Mentor or if you’d like to volunteer to be mentor, sign up below.
