“So then, just as you have received Christ Jesus the Lord, continue to live your lives in him, rooted and built up in him, established and strengthened in the faith, just as you were taught, abounding in thanksgiving.”

Rooted & Abounding Tree

rooted & abounding

Trinity is a place where we are deeply rooted in the love and grace of Jesus Christ. These roots establish us as people of God and build us up to live “life that really is life.” (1 Timothy 6) This is our home base for growing and learning together in faith, feeling connected and strengthened in community.

Strong roots are essential – they provide stability, assurance, nourishment, and foundation. This is why we turn to Trinity, its ministries and its mission, to provide us with opportunities to thrive in our relationships with God and neighbor. Many faithful generations have come to know God in this place and have been transformed by the gifts God abundantly gives to us.

Our gratitude for the gifts that come through these divine roots is apparent. We see it time and again through participation in our ministry programs, through the time and energy given to reaching out to those in need, through the sharing of our lives with one another, and through our praise and worship of the God who loves us.

We are already abounding in thanksgiving, and we want to continue bearing the fruit we’ve been created to produce – love, grace, service, belonging, and compassion. Together, rooted and built up in Christ Jesus, may we overflow with a generosity that changes lives within our walls and far beyond.

2027 pledging

two ways to pledge

This year, in an effort to simplify the pledging process, we’re offering two different ways to pledge for 2027:

1

paper pledge card

Fill out the paper pledge card included in your packet and bring it to the Trinity office, mail it back, or place it in the offering plate during worship. From there, you will adjust whatever way you give (check, online, IRA, stock) to reflect your pledged amount.

2

recurring online giving

Any new or updated recurring* online giving plan made after November 1, 2026, will be considered your pledge for the upcoming year. So, you can take care of your pledge AND your gift to Trinity in one step!

*Any one-time or recurring gifts given in 2026 will still be credited to this calendar year’s budget.

Three generations growing—and giving—at Trinity

One of Jessi Lindquist’s lasting memories of growing up at Trinity is simple one: watching her mom, Cheryl Nikko, listen to a sermon, her head tilted slightly to the side, completely attentive. “You’re learning your faith by watching the people around you,” Jessi says. Today, her son Ben is growing in that same community, surrounded by people who have helped their family’s faith take root.

Those roots reach back more than 50 years. All three of her children were baptized at Trinity and grew through Sunday school and confirmation. She is grateful for the pastors and staff who helped shape their lives, and for the opportunity to share this church home with her daughter’s family. Until Cheryl’s mother died two years ago at age 97, four generations shared in that life together. Her influence continues: the great-grandmother who taught Jessi the commandments also taught them to her children.

Jessi’s memories stretch from Christmas programs and youth mission trips to teaching Vacation Bible School, first as a young person and later as a parent. Yet she returned with her own family, even this familiar place could feel different. New faces didn’t know her history. A warm welcome from Stacy helped bridge that gap, making Jessi, her husband and their children feel belonged. It renewed something Jessi had experienced growing up: there was always someone looking out for her.

Now Ben describes Trinity as a “home away from home.” He knows the pastors and staff, sees his grandma, and worships alongside friends and their families. VBS has become a highlight of his summers. When helping with VBS meant missing a week of high school practices, he chose to be at Trinity. What began with his mom signing him up had become something he valued for himself.

That sense of belonging also reaches beyond the church doors. Ben says worship leaves him feeling more grateful and aware of his blessings. He has taken bags of supplies from Trinity to share with people experiencing homelessness along the route to his haircut—an opportunity to help that he now looks forward to.

For Jessi, that connection between faith and service began with opportunities Trinity offered her as a young person. Volunteering became part of who she was, continuing into college and beyond. Remembering the people who helped shape her faith, she says, “I want to be a gift to others.”

This is what generosity helps nurture: a child who feels at home, a family welcomed, a young person discovering the joy of serving. Through gifts of time, care and financial support, you help sustain a community where faith takes root—and where gratitude grows into love shared with others.
